Clinical Nursing Instructor - Faculty of Nursing- 0.6 FTE Permanent Ten (10) Month Position - Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (Prince County Hospital), Long-Term Care & Clinical Support *Amended Start Date*

Acknowledging that UPEI is located on the unceded land of the Mi鈥檏maq Nation, of the Wabanaki Confederacy, in the traditional district of Epekwitk, the Faculty of Nursing at the 杏吧原创, welcomes applications from exceptional candidates for the following clinical nursing instructor opportunity:
One (1) 0.6 FTE Permanent 10-month Position in psychiatric mental health nursing (PCH), long-term care, and clinical support.
The anticipated start date for this position would be May 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will provide direct clinical supervision to undergraduate nursing students in
psychiatric mental health settings (Prince County Hospital) and long-term care (Western PEI). The successful candidate would be part of the psychiatric mental health clinical teaching team in the fall semester and the long-term care teaching team in the winter semester. In May and June, the successful candidate will provide clinical support for students and faculty in various clinical sites.
This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

The Faculty of Nursing at the 杏吧原创 offers the only undergraduate and graduate programs for the nursing profession in the province. The Faculty of Nursing plays an important role in nursing education to support the local and national health system by developing nurse leaders grounded in the philosophy of Primary Health Care.
In addition to providing evidence-informed education, we strongly believe in providing opportunities for all
faculty, staff and students to participate in research and scholarships. Nursing education researchers study how students best learn nursing skills and investigate diverse topics such as health outcomes and improvements to the quality of healthcare services.
Nursing is a dynamic profession requiring critical and reflective thinking based on science and human
perspectives. There is a need to reflect and embed within the curriculum and pedagogy new ways of thinking and being to reflect the changing health system and the importance of interprofessional learning and collaboration, diversity, and inclusivity. In addition, we honour and appropriately respond to the Calls to Action of Canada鈥檚 Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including fostering reflection related to decolonization and Indigenization to support recognition.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have earned a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN or BN) and have at least 3 years of full-time clinical experience. Recent experience in psychiatric mental health nursing is required.
Experience in providing clinical supervision of students (including preceptorships) or peer clinical education would be an asset. The Canadian Nurse Educators Institute (CNEI) Clinical Instructor Certificate course would be an asset. A master鈥檚 degree in nursing would be an asset. A valid driver鈥檚 license is required.
Hours: Part-time - 22.5 hours per week, days and evening shifts
Salary: $49.59 to $54.11 per hour in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the 杏吧原创 Board of Governors and The 杏吧原创 Faculty Association Bargaining Unit #1.
