The McDougall Faculty of Business (MFoB) is seeking a dedicated individual to provide a wide range of academic support for its programs and students. The position holder will work closely with the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, and students to ensure quality academic programs and a positive student experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Academic & ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ Success Support – Undergraduate Programs:

  • Work with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs to provide front-line academic support to MFoB students by advising on program, degree, and specialization requirements
  • Ensure academic regulation requirements are met
  • Refer students to other available institutional supports
  • Make recommendations to the Associate Dean regarding program needs
  • Maintain records of academic regulations, academic dishonesty, and student appeals
  • Monitor and respond to the MFoB Advising generic email account
  • Liaise with the Registrar’s office and other units on matters related to courses, programs, or student inquiries, including transfer credits and Letters of Permission
  • Work with the Case Competition Coach and team:
    • Support travel logistics, registrations, and payments for competitions
    • Prepare travel claims and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
    • Monitor the case competition budget

Academic & ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ Success Support - Graduate Programs:

  • Coordinate the graduate application process, including receiving and tracking applications, distributing them to the Admissions Committees, and issuing admission correspondence
  • Coordinate with the Faculty of Graduate Studies as needed
  • Schedule candidate interviews for the Graduate Programs
  • Conduct research on MBA-related information
  • Coordinate contracts for external facilitators required for orientation and professional development
  • Maintain records related to academic regulations and student appeals
  • Monitor and respond to generic email accounts for MBA programs
  • Liaise with the Registrar’s office and other units on matters related to graduate programs

ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ Success & Engagement:

  • Oversee social media accounts and support MFoB in promoting programs and initiatives
  • Assist in developing and maintaining promotional materials
  • Supervise the Social Media ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ Assistant and coordinate content creation
  • Promote student opportunities, programs, and awards
  • Organize student, alumni, and guest speaker events
  • Promote alumni engagement and assist with planning career fairs, orientations, open houses, and other MFoB events
  • Coordinate recruitment activities and support new student-centered initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary program in a related area is required. A Bachelor of Education (BEd) is considered an asset, as it enhances the ability to support students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or executive functioning challenges
  • Prior experience supporting students at the post-secondary level is essential, particularly in areas related to academic advising, student interactions, and fostering a positive learning environment
  • Experience working with diverse cultures or international experience, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by international students
  • Proven ability to manage social media platforms effectively, including content creation and strategy development
  • Experience in marketing and recruitment is an asset, particularly in promoting academic programs and engaging potential students
  • Familiarity with formalized digital admissions software is an asset
  • Familiarity with UPEI-specific systems (myUPEI, Colleague, 25 Live) is preferred
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and function as an effective team member
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with university regulations and policies is an asset
